About me
I’m Yesenia Ureña, known professionally as Jessie Ure, a fashion designer, entrepreneur, and educator with over a decade of experience in the fashion industry. My career has evolved through brand creation, fashion education, and the development of projects that connect design, functionality, and sustainability.
I am the founder of Jessport, a sportswear brand developed between Costa Rica and Colombia, where I explored performance-driven design, functionality, and contemporary sportswear. I also created Jessmart, an e-commerce platform based in Costa Rica, dedicated to sewing, fashion, and art supplies, supporting creative communities through access to tools and materials.
I am also the founder of Panamerican Fashion Academy, an educational platform dedicated to teaching how to build and develop a fashion brand from concept to market. Through Panamerican, I mentor designers and entrepreneurs in areas such as brand identity, product development, creative direction, and strategic thinking, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and responsible business models.
In parallel, I currently work as a professor at Istituto Marangoni Miami, where I teach Patternmaking, Sustainability, Upcycling, Fabric Manipulation, and Fashion Techniques within an academic and international framework. This role allows me to focus on technical depth, material experimentation, and advanced garment development.
Across all my work, my goal is to merge creativity, technical knowledge, and strategic thinking, contributing to a fashion industry that values craftsmanship, conscious production, and meaningful brand building.
